What is teak wood?

Teak wood is a special type of hardwood found in many Asian countries, including the Philippines, India, and Myanmar. Teak trees take many years to reach maturity and that is part of the reason why this scarce wood is so highly valued by consumers. 

Where is teak furniture made?

One of the largest manufacturers of teak wood furniture is Bali.  Bali is a country located in Asia and for years has specialized in the craft of teak furniture making. 

In addition to Asian teak furniture, Scandinavian teak furniture is also very popular around the world.  Scandinavian teak furniture is known for it minimal, modern design. 

You can find Swedish teak furniture and Norwegian teak furniture, but the most well none scandinavian teak furniture is Danish.   Danish teak furniture is some of the most beautifully made teak furniture.  While the teak wood is not harvested in Denmark, Denmark imports its teak wood from Asia.
